Counselors
We are seeking to hire 8 counselors (4 men and 4 women) to serve from June 3-August 3, 2024 . Training that will continue to equip you for a lifetime of ministry will take place over the course of three intensive days at Ironwood camp (Newberry Springs, CA). These will include sessions on Biblical Counseling taught by several skilled counselors and teachers and practical leadership skills. Then we will continue training with our team rounding out the week with hands-on training and experiences in a variety of outdoor sports and camping skills as well as team building, storytelling, and even use of power tools as we work together to add to the rich variety of fun activities and events for our several programs and facilities. We are thrilled to be recruiting this year for a team that will serve both Camp Assurance (Georgetown, IL) and Camp Grace (Wheatland, WY.) We will do a week of training together with the Ironwood staff then travel and get ready for both a week of Junior Camp and a week of Teen Camp at Camp Grace. During the July 4 week we will transition to Camp Assurance where we will continue our ministry there with two weeks of Junior Camp, a week of Teen Camp and a week of custom teen camp and a 75th anniversary open house.
You will be given the opportunity to participate in our college scholarship program as we work together to raise funds for your college tuition.
Operations Team
We are seeking to hire five operations staff and five Leadership Live young people. This will include positions for a head cook, cook’s assistants, hospitality team members, first aid provider, stores, maintenance and grounds. We believe that all of our staff should be qualified for and trained in Biblical counseling skills but that some will be willing and trained to serve in a “behind the scenes” ministry as well. The summer schedule will follow and include all of what is described above in the counselor description. Extra certifications and training will be provided for each operations team members area of specialization. The Leadership Live program will be patterned after the program designed by Ironwood. It is for young people who are living godly, disciplined lives and who desire to be stretched and invested in by our staff as they serve alongside them.
