Following are projects for which you or your family could designate a gift. These are also good ideas for Sunday School classes, Ladies groups, and the whole church to consider taking a special offering to help with. Thank you in advance for whatever you choose to do.
New Steps going down to the Creek [$14 each for up to 80 steps or $1120 total] Funds now Provided for this project due for completion Sept. 19, 2009
Every camper uses these multiple times each day. Railroad ties were used the last time and installed over 20 years ago. This time we will use treated landscaping timbers. Each step will cost $14 for wood and rebar to hold the steps in place.
Scholarship assistance for campers [$50 per scholarship]
The Marguerite Warner Scholarship fund provides a limited number of partial scholarships annually from funds provided in Marguerite’s memory. Your gift would increase the number of scholarships we can offer. Campers are chosen with preferences given to those who meet certain criteria. You can review the criteria by clicking on:
Staff Assistance Fund for Education or “SAFE”
Counselors, kitchen workers, program assistants and others are students who sacrifice the chance to work for higher paying summer jobs in order to serve our campers. Funds designated for “SAFE” will be distributed evenly among staff members who are currently or who will soon be paying for college. Any amount you can give will help!
New Roof on the bath house [$6,000]
This project would replace the leaking flat roof currently on the bath house with a pitched roof. In addition to covering the bath house and changing rooms, it will create a totally enclosed room for the bath house water heaters. This will prolong the number of years each water heater can be used since they will be totally [rather than only partially] protected from the weather outside. The board has approved doing this project, but only when funds are made available by gifts from God’s people.
